Takahashi Couples

Description

Each one of these animes based off of Rumiko Takahashi’s work is of course famous for their main couples. Urusei Yatsura: Lum & Ataru, Ranma ½: Ranma and Akane, InuYasha: InuYasha & Kagome, Kyoukai no Rinne: Rinne and Sakura (although they are not really a couple yet). You might even say that all four couples are in some ways “Peas in a pod” due to the nature of their relationships with each other. Like in every Rumic World, the main male character does not know how to express their romantic feelings towards the main female character.  Some of the men are, Casanova Wannabe, unlucky every day, jerk with a heart of gold. But Rinne is very different from any of Takahashi's male protagonists. He's quite kind and calm headed unlike the regular "Jerk with a Heart of Gold". But his current “relationship” with the main female character Sakura does follow the usual path of how relatuionships in a Rumic world is portrayed. As shown when his rival --- shows up and expresses his feelings to Sakura leading Rinne to give Sakura the cold shoulder as he does not know how to make due on his new-found feelings for her. Thus it puts them into the same boat (in ways) with their previous predecessors

From a past review from a blogger on the newest anime of Kyoukai no Rinne the whole scenario with the love tension between Rinne and Sakura it’s clearly a case of “been there and done that” and as it was also pointed out as well and this I due fully agree with is that it would be nice to see the lead male character actually date the main female character either at the beginning of the manga or at least work it to where they begin to date in the middle, and then have things go from there in ways of conflict Rumic style.  I think that would be a very nice change from what we have seen in the past works and to see two characters together as an official couple earlier on and see them go through all the obstacles together regardless of how wacky they are as it would be an example of how couples struggle with these types of things in their everyday lives and come out of them together strong and even more in love.

If you really do stop to picture it in that type of scenario it is entirely possible for it to happen because as long as it sticks to the styles of Rumiko Takahashi it actually could be a success.  I think it would be a nice turn of events  to actually see an official couple happen in a Rumiko Takahashi manga be together earlier rather than have them wait it out or be completely pig-headed to their feelings for each other.

This thought has indeed crossed my mind a few times when I was doing my writing as the one thing I don't want to see be done is have any of my stories be a copycat of the InuYasha series in the least.

I do not own Urusei Yatsura, Ranma 1/2, InuYasha or Kyoukai no Rinne, or the screenshots they all belong to :iconrumikotakahashiplz:
