Sesshomaru-sama's home

Description

I am sure that there was at least one time when there was that one question that came to every InuYasha fan's mind when they would see an episode of InuYasha or read the manga of a scene when Sesshomaru appeared or as he was leaving.

"Does he have a home?"

I remember a friend telling me that she read a chapter of the manga where he told Jaken "Let's go home." so just like her that did peak my curiosity some too.

InuYasha and his friends, when they needed to take a break from their travelling or to discuss on how to defeat Naraku they would take shelter at a human village at probably one of the most fanciest homes of the village (due to Miroku's schemes of course) or back at Kaede's village to regenerate and to discuss battle strategies. Sesshomaru, so far has been shown wondering over Japan for most of his life in search of power (and Tessiaga for a while) but it's just that even a great and powerful demon like him would at least have to go somewhere to rest once in a while instead of out in the forest or up against a tree.

But the only thing about it is that it was never shown during that year with the battle against Naraku because if he did he might have left Rin there but than again it probably wouldn't have been safe for her in a castle full of demons.

But let's just say for a moment that he did have a home, in some fanfictions I have read it has him going back to his mother's castle in the sky but I don't think that his palace as it seems to belong mainly to his mother. Furthermore, I don't think he is the type to want to live under the same roof with his mother as just from their one encounter they don't appear to be that close.

But now if he did have a palace of his own, what kind would it be?

There have been a few episodes and chapters where they did show feudal estate/castles that human lords lived in when they ruled over the land and I indeed find them to be so intriguing and culturally enlightening as well.

Some might speculate that he would live in a Shinden-zukuri which refers to the style of domestic architecture developed for palatial or aristocratic mansions built in Heian-kyo (平安京, today's Kyoto) in the Heian period (794-1185), especially in 10th century Japan.

But also, would he even go with his own shiro? One of those tall, majestic Japanese castles as many of them were built during the Sengoku (Warring States) period.

I think what it really comes down to is that it all depends on Sesshomaru, what kind he wants and what type would fit his personality as well.

One can only imagine I guess. ;p

I acknowledge that I don't own InuYasha or the screenshots. They belong to Rumiko Takahashi.

Update: It turns out he has no interest in a home. He prefers to be nomadic. inuyasha.wikia.com/wiki/Lord_o…
